Orthotics

We pride ourselves on our commitment to our patients

Orthotics are orthopedic devices designed to treat or adjust various biomechanical foot disorders.

Orthotics can be commercially made devices, such as cushioned heel cups, insoles for shoes or custom-tailored devices specifically designed to meet the needs of a particular individual.

Orthotics can help relieve and prevent:

  • Runner’s knee
  • Achilles tendonitis
  • Shin splints
  • Heel and arch pain
  • Ilio-tibial bank syndrome
  • Stress fractures
  • Plantar fasciitis
  • Knee/ patella femoral pain
  • Low back pain

Custom orthotics are made by making an impression of the foot called a cast.

The evaluation and casting process takes a mold of your foot in the ideal subtalor neutral positioning restoring the foots natural position relieving stress and imbalances throughout the ankles, knees, hips and lumbosacral spine. In addition to restoring proper alignment, custom orthotics provide shock attenuation allowing you to walk, stand, jog and function with improved endurance and diminished pain throughout the spine or lower extremities.
